MACS Transport & Security is seeking an experienced Transportation Operations Lead to oversee daily transportation and dispatch operations across multiple locations. What You'll Do

Transportation Operations & Dispatch Leadership

• Coordinate and oversee daily transportation operations across assigned locations.
• Optimize driver, vehicle, and third-party carrier utilization to maximize efficiency and service levels.
• Monitor transportation demand, route coverage, staffing availability, and operational priorities.
• Make real-time decisions regarding dispatch, scheduling, resource allocation, and service recovery.
• Identify and implement solutions to operational challenges while maintaining customer commitments.
• Support transportation performance, operational consistency, and service reliability.

Transportation Technology & Telematics Management

• Serve as the primary subject matter expert for transportation technology platforms, telematics, GPS, and dispatch systems.
• Monitor route execution, driver activity, fleet utilization, and operational performance metrics.
• Analyze transportation data to identify opportunities for improved efficiency, compliance, and productivity.
• Support technology adoption, troubleshooting, system enhancements, and process improvements.
• Ensure accurate operational records and reporting within transportation management systems.

Service Recovery & Operational Problem Solving

• Lead response efforts for route disruptions, driver absences, delays, scheduling conflicts, and customer service issues.
• Evaluate available resources and implement effective solutions to minimize service interruptions.
• Coordinate with drivers, customers, vendors, and internal teams to maintain operational continuity.
• Escalate significant customer concerns, safety incidents, or business-impacting issues as appropriate.

Fleet Operations & Compliance

• Support fleet readiness through oversight of inspections, maintenance schedules, licensing requirements, and documentation.
• Promote compliance with company policies, transportation regulations, safety requirements, and HSEQ standards.
• Monitor fleet-related risks and coordinate corrective action when needed.
• Assist in maintaining audit-ready operational and compliance records.

Performance Analysis & Continuous Improvement

• Track KPIs including transportation performance, driver utilization, service reliability, dispatch effectiveness, and productivity.
• Analyze operational trends and identify opportunities to improve service execution and resource utilization.
• Prepare reports and recommendations for leadership.
• Support operational improvement initiatives and best-practice implementation.

Leadership & Team Support

• Provide day-to-day operational leadership and guidance to drivers and transportation personnel.
• Assist with onboarding, training, workforce development, and operational coaching.
• Communicate expectations related to safety, customer service, dispatch procedures, and operational standards.
• Partner with management on performance concerns, training needs, and staffing recommendations.

Qualifications

Required

• 5+ years of experience in transportation operations, logistics, dispatch, fleet management, service coordination, or a related field.
• Experience making real-time operational decisions involving scheduling, routing, resource allocation, dispatch, or service recovery.
• Experience working with transportation management systems (TMS), GPS platforms, telematics systems, dispatch software, or logistics technology.
• Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
• Valid driver's license with an acceptable driving record.
• Ability to obtain and maintain a TWIC card.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Preferred

• Experience in a Transportation Lead, Senior Dispatcher, Lead Coordinator, Fleet Supervisor, Logistics Supervisor, or Operations Lead role.
• Multi-site transportation or logistics operations experience.
• Experience managing third-party transportation providers.
• Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Transportation, Business Administration, Operations Management, or a related field.
• Experience analyzing transportation metrics and implementing process improvements.

• May occasionally support transportation operations during unusual service demands or emergency situations.
