Transportation Project Manager

An established multidisciplinary engineering company is looking to add a Transportation Project Manager to its Houston operation.

The successful candidate will manage complex roadway improvement projects while providing technical direction to engineering teams and maintaining strong relationships with public-sector clients.

Salary: $130,000-$185,000 depending on experience

Job Specifications:

• Direct the design and delivery of roadway, highway and municipal transportation projects
• Develop project work plans, schedules, budgets and staffing requirements
• Oversee schematic design, geometric design and PS&E production
• Coordinate drainage, traffic, structures, utilities and other project disciplines
• Provide technical leadership and complete senior-level design reviews
• Manage communication with TxDOT, municipalities and partner consultants
• Monitor project performance and resolve delivery issues
• Prepare scopes, fees and technical content for project proposals
• Coach engineers and support the growth of the transportation team

Key Requirements:

• Bachelor’s degree in Civil Engineering
• Active Texas Professional Engineer license
• Significant transportation or roadway design experience
• Previous project-management responsibility
• Understanding of TxDOT criteria, manuals and delivery requirements
• Experience leading PS&E or roadway reconstruction projects
• Ability to manage budgets, schedules, staff and client expectations
• Strong written, verbal and interpersonal communication skills
• Relationships within the Houston transportation market would be advantageous
