Duties

• Assemble, inspect, and package sterile medical instruments with precision, ensuring all items meet strict sterilization standards.
• Reprocess endoscopes and surgical instruments using advanced sterilization techniques, adhering to manufacturer guidelines and infection control protocols.
• Manage inventory levels of sterile supplies and medical equipment, tracking usage and coordinating replenishments to prevent shortages.
• Perform decontamination procedures on contaminated instruments, utilizing appropriate cleaning agents and sterilization equipment.
• Apply aseptic techniques during handling and packaging of sterile items to prevent contamination.
• Document sterilization cycles, instrument tracking logs, and quality control measures accurately for compliance purposes.
• Support infection prevention management by implementing healthcare infection control practices and maintaining a sterile environment across all processing areas.

Experience

• Proven experience in sterile processing or medical instrument reprocessing within a healthcare setting.
• Knowledge of physiology and anatomy relevant to surgical procedures and instrument handling.
• Familiarity with medical terminology, medical equipment operation, and sterilization technologies.
• Strong understanding of infection prevention management, including aseptic techniques and infection control standards.
• Ability to operate specialized sterilization equipment such as autoclaves, ultrasonic cleaners, and endoscope reprocessors.
• Excellent organizational skills for inventory management and documentation accuracy.
• Prior experience with healthcare infection prevention and control practices is highly desirable.
