Treasury & FX Trader

Role Overview

We are looking for a Treasury & FX Trader to manage the currency, liquidity and settlement flows behind every transaction Payfuture processes. Reporting to the Head of Finance, you will execute FX, manage our positions and funding across currencies and partners, and make sure merchants and clients who rely on Payfuture for cross-border transaction solutions and banking services are paid on time, at the right rate.

Based in Dubai, this is a hands-on treasury and FX role. You will own FX execution and liquidity across our emerging-market corridors, work closely with Payment Operations, Compliance, Risk and the Commercial team, and build the FX and funding model for new markets and payment methods as we grow.

Key Responsibilities

FX Execution & Risk Management

• Execute spot, forward and swap FX across emerging-market and G10 currencies with banks, liquidity providers and OTC desks.
• Manage the daily FX position and hedge merchant and corporate exposure within approved limits.
• Track and report FX P&L, spread capture and execution slippage.
• Monitor markets, capital controls and central-bank actions in our corridors, and flag devaluation and repatriation risk early.

Liquidity & Treasury Management

• Forecast and manage daily liquidity across accounts, currencies and entities.
• Prefund payout partners and manage nostro, operating and safeguarding balances.
• Execute stablecoin (USDT/USDC) conversions and on/off-ramp flows alongside traditional banking rails.
• Reduce idle balances and funding costs to improve working capital.

Settlement & Pricing

• Run merchant settlement and cross-border repatriation of funds in each merchant's currency of choice.
• Price FX for merchants and the Commercial team, maintaining rate cards and markups that protect margin.
• Support new market launches by designing the FX, funding and settlement model for each corridor.

Controls, Compliance & Reporting

• Reconcile trades, positions and balances daily with Payment Operations and Finance, and resolve breaks quickly.
• Ensure trading and treasury activity meets treasury policy, FX limits and FCA, MFSA and AML/CTF requirements.
• Support audits, safeguarding checks and regulatory reporting.
• Report on FX, liquidity and treasury KPIs to the Head of Finance and senior management.

Counterparty Management & Process Improvement

• Build and manage relationships with banks, liquidity providers, OTC desks and local partners, negotiating pricing and limits.
• Identify automation opportunities and work with Product and Technology to improve treasury tooling.
• Scale FX and treasury processes to support Payfuture's growth into new regions.

Qualifications & Experience

• 3–6 years' experience in FX, treasury or trading, ideally within a PSP, EMI, remittance business, bank or liquidity provider.
• Hands-on experience executing spot, forwards and swaps, with a strong understanding of FX risk and hedging.
• Practical experience of liquidity management, prefunding and settlement across multiple currencies and entities.
• Knowledge of emerging-market currencies, including restricted and NDF markets and capital controls.
• Understanding of the regulatory environment for EMIs, including safeguarding and AML/CTF.
• Highly analytical, with advanced Excel skills and comfort working with large datasets.
• Calm and decisive under pressure, with strong attention to detail.
• Excellent communication and counterparty management skills.
• Experience with stablecoins, Bloomberg, Refinitiv, 360T, a treasury management system, or SQL/Python is a plus.
