Duties

• Manage daily cash flow operations, including forecasting, liquidity analysis, and cash position optimization using advanced spreadsheets and financial software like QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, and other accounting systems.
• Oversee accounts payable and receivable processes to ensure timely payments and collections while maintaining accurate records in compliance with GAAP and IFRS standards.
• Conduct balance sheet reconciliations, account analysis, and general ledger accounting to support accurate financial reporting and month-end close processes.
• Lead the preparation of financial reports, regulatory filings, and internal management reports with clarity and precision for stakeholders at all levels.
• Ensure regulatory compliance accounting practices are followed diligently in accordance with SOX requirements, governmental regulations, and nonprofit or public sector standards where applicable.
• Supervise and develop the finance team responsible for treasury functions, fostering a collaborative environment focused on continuous improvement in financial management practices.
• Implement cost accounting analysis strategies to monitor expenses effectively while supporting budgeting efforts through forecasting and financial planning activities.

Skills

• Extensive knowledge of financial concepts including double entry bookkeeping, debits & credits, and international accounting standards such as IFRS and GAAP.
• Proven experience managing accounting teams with strong leadership skills in finance team management.
• Proficiency in financial software including QuickBooks, Sage, Xero, Excel data analysis tools, and other accounting systems for effective financial management.
• Strong understanding of treasury management principles including cash management strategies and regulatory compliance accounting.
• Ability to perform detailed account reconciliation, account analysis, balance sheet reconciliation, and financial report writing with accuracy.
• Familiarity with SOX controls, regulatory reporting requirements, cost accounting analysis, payroll processing, and technical accounting practices.
• Excellent analytical skills combined with a robust understanding of financial management principles necessary for forecasting and budgeting within nonprofit or governmental contexts.
