Duties

• Collaborate with healthcare providers to develop and implement individualized treatment plans for patients
• Manage electronic health record (EHR) systems and electronic medical record (EMR) management for billing and coding purposes
• Verify insurance coverage, process health insurance claims, and facilitate third-party billing to ensure timely reimbursement
• Accurately assign diagnostic codes using ICD-9, ICD-10, CPT, and DRG coding standards in accordance with medical coding guidelines
• Collect and review medical records, ensuring completeness and compliance with billing requirements
• Coordinate patient scheduling, follow-up appointments, and treatment documentation to streamline the revenue cycle management process
• Communicate effectively with patients regarding treatment plans, insurance procedures, and billing inquiries while maintaining confidentiality

Requirements

• Proven experience in a medical office setting with strong knowledge of medical terminology and health insurance claim processing
• Familiarity with billing software, EMR/EHR systems, and revenue cycle management tools
• Expertise in ICD coding (including ICD-9 and ICD-10), CPT coding, DRG classification, and inpatient services coding
• Understanding of medical coding guidelines for accurate billing and reimbursement
• Ability to interpret health insurance policies and navigate third-party payer requirements confidently
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in managing medical records and documentation standards
• Excellent communication skills to liaise effectively between patients, providers, and insurance companies
