Tree Care Grounds Worker with Class "B" Driver License

Brief Description A Groundsworker:

• assists in the performance of specialized pruning and takedowns
• operates equipment (e.g., chainsaw, chipper, hand tools) safely
• demonstrates proper tree wounding/pruning techniques
• performs all types of trimming from the ground up to 20 feet high
• maintains tools and equipment to ensure safety
• attends safety meetings
• demonstrates basic tree and disease identification skills
• leads a small work crew safely and efficiently
• provides excellent service (e.g., accurate, complete, and timely) to clients, work-site partners, and Bemus staff in a courteous and efficient manner

Requirements A Groundsworker:

• pruning and removal techniques
• tree identification and insect and disease identification
• safe work practices and emergency procedures
• selection and use of appropriate Personal Protective Equipment (PPE)
• basic operation of power equipment (e.g., chipper, chainsaw) and various hand tools
• basic mathematics
• basic knots and rope operation for rigging
