Tree Climber

• Work as a member of a crew, providing high-quality tree care.
• Learn, understand, and adhere to, all safety rules and company safety policies.
• Follow directions from the crew leader or designated supervisor.
• Participates in all safety training sessions offered, asks questions, and improve job safety skills.
• Reports for duty at the designated location on time each day and must have own transportation.
• Perform specialized pruning and removal, install cabling and bracing using knowledge of compartmentalization & other concepts related to tree wounding/pruning.
• Prune, remove, fertilize, and spray trees as directed by lead arborist.
• Cut away dead and excess branches from trees using climbing equipment or bucket trucks, with chainsaws, hand tools, and pole tools.
• Lower tree parts using ropes or and rigging equipment.
• Climb trees using correct equipment and methods and climb ladders to gain access to work areas.
• Inspect trees to determine stability and condition.
• Safely operate bucket trucks, loaders, stump grinders, brush chippers, tractors, chainsaws, chip trucks, sprayers, and other equipment and tools.
• Learn and understand the dangers associated with electrical hazards.
• The ability to lift a minimum of 50 lbs.
• Clean, sharpen, and lubricate tools and equipment.
• Chip debris generated from tree pruning and removal operations and clean areas using rakes, shovels, blowers, tarps, and tubs.
• Provide excellent customer service
• Communicate well with all crew members, crew leaders, and supervisors.
• Strive to improve job skills and develop upward mobility.
• CDL a big plus

Mandatory Requirements:

• Minimum 3 yrs. experience working on a tree care crew as a production climber.
• Must have reliable transportation.
• Must have valid driver's license.

Job Type: Full-time

Pay: $20.00 - $30.00 per hour
