Tree Climber / Arborist

Elite Maintenance & Tree Service is seeking an experienced and safety-focused Tree Climber / Arborist to join our growing tree care team. The ideal candidate has strong climbing skills, understands proper tree pruning practices, and takes pride in performing high-quality work safely and efficiently.

Position Responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing and aerial tree care operations using ropes, saddles, and approved climbing equipment.
• Perform pruning, trimming, crown cleaning, crown reduction, deadwooding, and structural pruning in accordance with ANSI A300 and ISA standards.
• Safely operate chainsaws and other tree care equipment while working in the canopy.
• Perform tree removals and sectional removals when required.
• Assist with rigging and lowering branches and large sections of wood.
• Work safely around buildings, vehicles, pedestrians, and other site hazards.
• Conduct pre-job safety inspections and participate in daily JSA and safety tailgate meetings.
• Communicate effectively with the ground crew, crew leader, and management.
• Maintain and properly inspect climbing gear, chainsaws, and personal protective equipment.
• Keep work areas clean and organized and ensure proper handling of green waste.
• Provide professional customer service and represent Elite Maintenance & Tree Service in a positive manner.
• Follow company safety policies, procedures, and all applicable industry regulations.

Qualifications

• Previous professional tree climbing experience required.
• Ability to safely climb and work at height for extended periods.
• Experience with chainsaws, rigging systems, and aerial tree work.
• Knowledge of proper pruning techniques and tree-care practices.
• Ability to work as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong commitment to safety and quality workmanship.
• Valid driver's license. Class A preferred.
• ISA Certified Arborist or Tree Climber certification is a plus.
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions.
