J-Bird's Tree Service is seeking an experienced, dependable Tree Climber and/or Bucket Truck Operator to join our growing team.

Position Overview

This is a versatile tree service position involving climbing, bucket truck operation, and ground work depending on the requirements of each job.

• Tree Climbing: Perform climbing, pruning, and technical tree removals as needed. Climbing will not necessarily be required every day.
• Bucket Truck Operation: Operate bucket trucks and perform aerial tree work as needed.
• Ground Operations: Assist with debris removal, equipment operation, and general job-site cleanup when not performing aerial work.

Regarding Ground Labor: J-Bird's Tree Service has invested in specialized equipment and developed an efficient debris removal system that significantly reduces the amount of strenuous manual labor commonly associated with tree service. While ground work is an expected part of this position, our operational approach emphasizes efficiency and minimizing unnecessary physical exertion.

Primary Responsibilities

• Perform tree climbing, trimming, pruning, and removal operations as needed
• Safely operate bucket trucks and aerial equipment as needed
• Assist with ground operations and debris removal
• Operate or assist with chainsaws, chippers, dump trailers, and other equipment
• Properly secure equipment and maintain organized job sites
• Follow established safety procedures and industry best practices
• Communicate effectively with supervisors and crew members
• Maintain productivity and professionalism throughout the workday
• Contribute to an efficient, team-oriented working environment

Requirements

• Valid driver's license required
• Reliable transportation to and from work and job sites
• Professional tree climbing and/or bucket truck operating experience strongly preferred
• Knowledge of safe tree removal techniques and equipment operation
• Willingness to assist with ground labor when not climbing or operating equipment
• Must provide personal safety equipment, including hard hat, work boots, gloves, and eye/ear protection
• Strong work ethic, dependability, and professionalism
• Ability to work outdoors in varying weather conditions
• Ability to work independently when appropriate and cooperate effectively with a crew
• Commitment to safety, efficiency, and quality workmanship
