Job Overview
We are seeking a skilled and safety-conscious Tree Climber / Tree Trimmer to join our arboriculture team. In this role, you will be responsible for maintaining the health and safety of trees through precise trimming, removal, and rigging techniques. Your expertise will help enhance the safety, aesthetics, and vitality of trees in various environments. This position offers an opportunity to work outdoors, utilize specialized equipment, and contribute to community green spaces.

Duties

• Perform tree trimming to improve tree health, shape, and safety.
• Use chainsaws and other hand tools to prune branches and cut down trees as needed.
• Apply arborist rigging techniques to safely lower large branches or entire trees during removal or pruning operations.
• Conduct tree removal procedures safely and efficiently, ensuring minimal impact on surrounding areas.
• Inspect trees for hazards or disease and recommend appropriate maintenance or removal strategies.
• Operate climbing gear and safety equipment to access difficult or elevated areas of trees.
• Follow all safety protocols and industry standards to prevent accidents and injuries during work activities.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition for optimal performance.

Skills

• Proven experience in tree trimming, pruning, and removal operations.
• Proficiency with chainsaws and other arborist tools.
• Knowledge of arborist rigging techniques for safe tree work at height.
• Ability to climb trees safely using harnesses, ropes, and climbing gear.
• Strong understanding of safety procedures related to tree work and working at heights.
• Physical strength, endurance, and agility to perform demanding outdoor tasks.
• Good communication skills to coordinate with team members and clients when necessary.
• Attention to detail and a commitment to maintaining high safety standards.
