Tree Service Groundsman / Labourer

We are looking for a hardworking, reliable Tree Service Groundsman / Labourer to join our growing team.

We are a professional tree-care company providing tree removal, pruning, stump grinding, chipping, lot clearing, forestry work, and storm cleanup throughout the area.

About the Position

As a Groundsman/Labourer, you will work alongside our tree crews to safely and efficiently complete a variety of tree-care and property-maintenance projects.

Responsibilities include:

• Assisting Arborists and tree climbers on job sites
• Feeding brush into the wood chipper
• Dragging, stacking and processing branches and logs
• Operating chainsaws and other equipment as trained
• Setting up and maintaining safe work zones
• Using ropes and rigging equipment under the direction of experienced crew members
• Loading and unloading equipment and materials
• Assisting with tree removals, pruning, lot clearing and storm cleanup
• Operating equipment such as chippers, loaders and stump grinders when trained and qualified
• Maintaining a clean and organized job site
• Performing daily equipment checks and basic maintenance
• Following all company safety procedures and working safely around heavy equipment and moving machinery

What We're Looking For

• Previous landscaping, construction, forestry or tree-care experience is an asset, but willing to train the right person
• Comfortable working outdoors in all weather conditions
• Physically capable of performing demanding manual work
• Reliable, punctual and dependable
• Strong work ethic and positive attitude
• Ability to work well as part of a team
• Safety-conscious and willing to learn
• Valid driver's licence is an asset
• Experience operating chainsaws, chippers, loaders or other equipment is an asset
• ISA or other tree-care experience is an asset
