Truck Driver - Class 1

Job Overview
At Fry's Custom Contracting Ltd. we are seeking a dedicated and skilled Truck Driver to join our construction team. We are however, willing to train the right individual to be a successful employee as a driver. The ideal candidate will be responsible for transporting equipment and materials safely and efficiently while adhering to all traffic regulations and company policies. This role requires a strong focus on safety, reliability, and customer service, ensuring that deliveries are made on time and in excellent condition.

Duties

• Operate commercial trucks to transport freight to designated locations.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the vehicle to ensure safety and compliance.
• Load and unload cargo, ensuring proper handling and securing of goods.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, including mileage, fuel consumption, and delivery times.
• Communicate effectively with Managers, Supervisors and customers regarding delivery schedules and any issues that may arise.
• Adhere to all local, state, and federal transportation regulations.
• Assist with basic mechanical repairs as needed to ensure vehicle reliability.
• Operate forklifts and heavy equipment when necessary for loading and unloading tasks.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver's license (CDL) with a clean driving record.
• Experience in commercial driving with a strong understanding of freight transportation.
• Knowledge of mechanical repair is a plus for maintaining vehicle performance.
• Familiarity with equipment is preferred but we are willing to train the right candidate in efficient loading and unloading of cargo.
• Ability to operate heavy equipment safely and effectively when required.
• Strong organizational skills with attention to detail in record keeping.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting with team members and clients.
• Must be able to pass background checks as required by company policy.
