Duties

• Safely operate commercial trucks, including tractor-trailers, flatbeds, tankers, and refrigerated trailers, on over-the-road (OTR) routes and local deliveries
• Load and unload freight using manual handling techniques and proper cargo handling procedures
• Navigate routes efficiently using GPS navigation systems to meet delivery schedules
• Transport hazardous materials (hazmat) and dangerous goods in compliance with Hazardous Materials Regulations and FMCSA guidelines
• Maintain accurate logs of driving hours, delivery records, and cargo documentation in accordance with DOT regulations
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections to ensure vehicle safety and compliance with FMCSA standards
• Load and unload freight, ensuring proper securing of cargo to prevent damage during transit

Skills

• Proven experience in commercial truck driving, including route driving and delivery driving
• Knowledge of refrigeration systems for refrigerated trailer operations
• Familiarity with automobile transportation procedures for transporting vehicles safely
• Ability to operate manual transmission trucks with proficiency in manual handling techniques
• Strong understanding of FMCSA (Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration) regulations, DOT (Department of Transportation) rules, and hazardous materials regulations
• Excellent navigation skills utilizing GPS systems for efficient route planning
• Experience with freight logistics cargo handling, truck loading/unloading, and securing loads properly
• Ability to handle hazardous or dangerous goods safely and responsibly
• Skilled in truck driving safety protocols and hazard awareness for over-the-road routes
