Truck Driver

Job Summary

The Truck Driver is responsible for the safe, timely, and efficient transportation and delivery of company goods, merchandise, equipment, and other materials to designated locations. The role ensures that all deliveries are properly handled, documented, and completed while maintaining the assigned vehicle in good operating condition and complying with company policies and road safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate company-assigned trucks and delivery vehicles.
• Transport and deliver merchandise, supplies, equipment, and other company materials to designated stores, offices, warehouses, and other locations.
• Ensure that all items being transported are properly secured and protected from damage.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip inspections of the assigned vehicle.
• Check vehicle condition, including tires, brakes, lights, oil, water, and other basic components.
• Report vehicle defects, accidents, maintenance requirements, and other concerns immediately to the appropriate supervisor.
• Ensure accurate and complete delivery documentation, including delivery receipts, invoices, and other required documents.
• Verify quantities and condition of goods before loading and upon delivery.
• Assist in loading and unloading goods when necessary.
• Follow assigned delivery schedules, routes, and instructions.
• Observe traffic laws, road safety regulations, and company driving policies at all times.
• Maintain cleanliness and proper care of the assigned vehicle.
• Monitor fuel consumption and report any irregularities or concerns.
• Maintain professionalism and courteous communication when dealing with stores, customers, suppliers, and other company personnel.
• Perform other driving, delivery, and logistics-related duties as assigned.

Job Qualifications

Educational Attainment

• High School Graduate or at least Senior High School graduate.

License

• Must have a valid Professional Driver’s License with the appropriate restriction/code for operating trucks.
• Must have a clean and satisfactory driving record.

Work Experience

• At least 2 years of experience as a Truck Driver, Delivery Driver, or similar position.
• Experience in retail, logistics, warehousing, or distribution is an advantage.

Skills and Competencies

• Knowledge of basic vehicle inspection and maintenance.
• Familiarity with Metro Manila and/or provincial routes.
• Good navigation and route-planning skills.
• Responsible and safety-conscious.
• Physically fit and capable of loading/unloading goods when required.
• Good communication and interpersonal skills.
• Reliable, punctual, and trustworthy.
• Able to follow delivery schedules and instructions.
• Willing to work flexible hours, weekends, holidays, or extended hours when required.

Key Requirements

• Willing to report to the designated company location/warehouse.
• Willing to travel to different branches, stores, warehouses, and other company locations.
• Willing to perform loading and unloading activities when necessary.
• Can work independently with minimal supervision.
• Strong commitment to safe driving and proper handling of company property.
