Truck Driver

About the role

We are seeking an experienced Truck Driver to join NZ Labour Hire Group on a contract basis. Based in Tauranga, Central Bay of Plenty, you will be responsible for safely operating and maintaining commercial vehicles whilst delivering goods and services to our clients' specifications. This role is integral to ensuring our clients receive reliable, professional transport solutions.

Key responsibilities

• Safely operate commercial vehicles in compliance with all traffic regulations and company policies
• Plan and execute efficient delivery routes to meet scheduled deadlines
• Perform pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report any mechanical issues
• Maintain accurate logs and documentation including timesheets, delivery confirmations and vehicle maintenance records
• Load and unload cargo safely, ensuring proper securing and weight distribution
• Communicate professionally with clients, dispatch coordinators and other team members
• Adhere to all health and safety requirements and industry regulations
• Maintain a clean, well-organised vehicle interior and exterior

What we're looking for

• Valid New Zealand class 1 , 2 or 4 License. F endorsement & OSH ticket
• Proven experience as a professional truck driver in the road transport industry
• Strong knowledge of traffic regulations, road safety standards and logistical best practices
• Excellent time management skills with the ability to meet tight delivery schedules
• Ability to work independently and manage your own schedule responsibly
• Good communication skills and a professional demeanour when interacting with clients and colleagues
• Physical fitness and ability to perform manual handling tasks associated with loading and unloading
• A clean driving record and commitment to safe driving practices
• Full NZ work rights and willingness to undergo background checks and drug testing where required
• Current first aid certification or willingness to obtain it (preferred)
