Truck Driver

Job Summary
EVANS DELIVERY is seeking a dependable and safety-focused Truck Driver to transport goods and materials efficiently while maintaining accurate delivery schedules. The ideal candidate will operate company vehicles responsibly, follow assigned routes, complete deliveries accurately, and maintain professional communication with customers, dispatchers, and team members.

Key Responsibilities

• Safely operate assigned trucks and delivery vehicles according to company procedures.
• Transport packages, goods, materials, and other assigned cargo to designated locations.
• Follow assigned routes and delivery schedules while adapting to traffic and road conditions.
• Conduct pre-trip and post-trip vehicle inspections and report maintenance concerns.
• Load and unload cargo safely while protecting products from damage.
• Verify delivery documents, orders, quantities, and customer information.
• Obtain required delivery confirmations, signatures, or electronic acknowledgments.
• Communicate with dispatchers regarding routes, delays, traffic conditions, and delivery updates.
• Maintain accurate records of deliveries, mileage, fuel usage, and vehicle inspections.
• Secure cargo properly before and during transportation.
• Follow applicable traffic laws, company policies, and transportation safety procedures.
• Maintain the assigned vehicle in a clean and orderly condition.
• Provide courteous and professional service to customers at delivery locations.
• Report accidents, vehicle issues, delivery discrepancies, or other incidents promptly.
• Assist with basic warehouse or loading activities when required.
• Perform other transportation and delivery duties as assigned.

Qualifications

• Valid commercial driver's license appropriate for the assigned vehicle, when required.
• Previous truck driving, delivery, or transportation experience preferred.
• Clean driving record and strong commitment to safe driving practices.
• Knowledge of local routes, navigation tools, and basic transportation procedures.
• Ability to safely load, unload, lift, and secure cargo.
• Strong time-management and organizational skills.
• Good communication and customer service skills.
• Ability to work independently and follow established delivery procedures.
• Reliable, punctual, and dependable.
• Ability to complete required delivery documentation accurately.
• Comfortable working in varying weather and road conditions.
• Ability to perform vehicle inspections and identify basic maintenance concerns.
• Strong attention to detail and delivery accuracy.
• Flexible availability, including early mornings, evenings, weekends, or holidays as needed.
