About the position

We are looking for an experienced Driver/Operator to join our team and play an important role in keeping the roads across the Ruapehu District safe, reliable and moving.

You will operate trucks and construction plant, transport materials and equipment, support road maintenance and construction work, and get involved in general labouring and traffic control when required.

Working as part of a small, supportive crew, you will enjoy a hands-on role with plenty of variety and the opportunity to put your skills to work across the district.

What you will be doing

• Drive trucks and transport aggregate, plant and equipment
• Operate construction machinery safely and confidently
• Work around live traffic and in confined spaces
• Carry out vehicle and equipment checks
• Support the crew with general labouring and road maintenance
• Assist with traffic control when required

What you will bring

• Full Class 2 licence + WTR endorsements - essential
• Experience operating heavy machinery in civil construction
• A strong commitment to Health & Safety
• A proactive approach to identifying and managing risks
• Reliability, a great attitude and the ability to work well in a team
