Role Details
As an Underground Truck Operator, you’ll play a key part in the safe and efficient haulage of ore and waste from underground workings to designated locations. You’ll work as part of a supportive crew in a well‑structured mining environment with strong safety systems and experienced leadership.

This is a residential only position, based in Broken Hill.

What You’ll Be Doing

• Safely operate underground haul trucks to transport ore and waste between production areas and tipping locations

• Complete pre‑start checks, monitor equipment condition, and report faults or hazards promptly

• Follow underground traffic rules, designated travel routes, and all site safety procedures

• Communicate effectively with supervisors and underground crews using radios and mine systems

• Support general underground activities such as maintaining road conditions and keeping work areas tidy

What You Will Bring

Ideal candidates will bring:

• A strong commitment to safety and teamwork

• Ability to work in physically demanding environments
• Willingness to learn and follow established procedures
• A valid driver’s licence (mandatory)

Experienced operators may also bring:

• Previous underground truck operating experience
• Exposure to underground mining environments
• Competency in operating Sandvik or similar underground haul trucks
