Turn-mill Setter

Roles and responsibilities:

• Set and operate CNC Turn-Mill machines as per production requirements.
• Perform fixture, chuck, tool and component setting.
• Set tool offsets, work offsets, geometry and wear offsets.
• Load, verify and prove out CNC programs.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, tolerances and GD&T.
• Select appropriate cutting tools, inserts and machining parameters.
• Carry out turning, milling, drilling, tapping, boring, grooving and related operations.
• Perform first-piece inspection and make necessary offset corrections.
• Monitor dimensional accuracy, surface finish and tool condition during production.
• Troubleshoot machining problems such as tool wear, vibration, chatter, dimensional variation and tool breakage.
• Maintain required production quantity, quality and cycle time.
• Minimize rejection, rework and machine downtime.
• Coordinate with Production, Quality, Maintenance and Engineering teams.
• Maintain setup sheets, inspection records and other production documents.
• Follow 5S, safety procedures and standard operating instructions.

Required Skills

• Good knowledge of CNC Turn-Mill machine setting.
• Knowledge of Fanuc / Siemens / Mitsubishi controls is preferred.
• Good understanding of G & M codes and CNC programs.
• Knowledge of cutting tools, inserts and machining parameters.
• Ability to use Vernier, Micrometre, Bore Gauge, Height Gauge and other measuring instruments.
• Good understanding of engineering drawings and tolerances and Documentations
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.
• Ability to work independently and in a team.

Preferred Candidate

• ITI/Diploma Mechanical / BE-Mechanical + 36 years of experience in CNC Turn-Mill setting NPD and production.
