Turnaround Engineer – Contracts & Costing

Location: Qatar
Contract Duration: 1 Year

We are looking for an experienced Turnaround Engineer – Contracts & Costing to support a major industrial operation in Qatar.

Key Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical Engineering or a related engineering discipline.
• Minimum 5 years of relevant experience, preferably within fertilizer, petrochemical, refinery, oil & gas, or other process industries.
• Proven hands-on experience in plant turnaround/shutdown planning, execution and cost control.
• Strong experience in turnaround contracts, tendering, contractor evaluation, contract strategy and contract management.
• Strong cost engineering and estimation experience, including cost benchmarking, cost databases and zero-based costing.
• Experience with budget vs. actual analysis, cost forecasting, variance analysis, accruals and early identification of cost overruns.
• Experience supporting turnaround procurement, including consolidation of requirements and cost optimization.
• Good understanding of CAPEX/OPEX and financial control of turnaround expenditure.
• Experience preparing cost and management reports and supporting longer-term turnaround/capital planning.
• Strong working knowledge of SAP PM and SAP MM. Experience with SAP S/4HANA EAM is an advantage.
• Proven ability to work effectively with Engineering, Maintenance, Operations, Supply Chain/Procurement, Finance, Commercial teams and contractors.
• Strong analytical, commercial, communication and stakeholder-management skills.
• High level of integrity, accountability, safety awareness and results orientation.
