Turner

Key Responsibilities

• Operate lathe/conventional/CNC turning machines safely and efficiently.
• Read and interpret engineering drawings, dimensions, tolerances, and specifications.
• Perform turning, facing, drilling, boring, threading, grooving, chamfering, and related machining operations.
• Select and install appropriate cutting tools, inserts, chucks, and fixtures.
• Set machine parameters such as RPM, feed, depth of cut, and tool offsets as applicable.
• Inspect finished components using vernier calipers, micrometers, gauges, bore gauges, and other measuring instruments.
• Ensure components meet required dimensional and quality standards.
• Identify tool wear, machine abnormalities, and machining defects and report them to the supervisor.
• Maintain production output according to the assigned production plan and target.
• Carry out basic machine cleaning, lubrication, and routine maintenance activities.
• Maintain proper housekeeping around the machine and follow 5S practices.
• Follow all applicable safety procedures, PPE requirements, and factory rules.
• Minimize material wastage, rejection, rework, and machine downtime.
• Maintain production and inspection records as required.
• Coordinate with Quality, Maintenance, Stores, and Production teams whenever required.

Qualification & Experience

Qualification: ITI – Turner / Machinist or equivalent technical qualification.
Experience: 2–3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing/machining environment
