Tutor

One-on-one in-person tutor required, representing Kingdon and Associates Tutoring Services in Caledonia, Ontario, for students (grades 5-8) with learning disabilities. Must have your own transportation to drive to students' homes after school and/or on weekends. Tutor must have experience working with students who have learning disabilities and have some tutoring or teaching experience. Students will require intensive support to reteach and review, as well as teaching organization, planning and study strategies. Creativity and ability to adapt planned tutoring sessions to students' individual needs are very important. Will include some communication with the school and parents to ensure that tutoring enhances what is being learned at school and incorporates strategies that are effective for each unique learner's needs. Must be warm and engaging, able to make learning fun, and direct/motivate students to stay on task. Must have a vulnerable persons criminal reference check.

As a Tutor, you will be instrumental in fostering a supportive learning environment for students, enhancing their academic performance and confidence. This role requires strong core skills in tutoring, teaching, and effective communication to engage and motivate learners primarily in math and English. You will leverage your relevant experience with children and learning disabilities to tailor your approach, ensuring each student's unique needs are met.
