Responsible to: Head of Education, SENCO

About the Role

We are looking for a dedicated and experienced SEN Tutor to support students with special educational needs and additional needs to achieve their academic, social and personal potential.

Working as part of the education team, you will provide engaging and individualised teaching and learning, while supporting students with their behaviour, emotional wellbeing and wider development. You will work closely with the Head of Education, SENCO, teachers, parents/carers and other professionals to ensure each student receives the appropriate support.

The role requires a flexible and nurturing approach, with a strong focus on building positive relationships and creating a safe, inclusive and supportive learning environment.

You will be a committed and compassionate educator who is passionate about supporting young people with SEN and helping them achieve their potential.

You will have:

· Experience working with children or young people with SEN and/or additional needs.

· Experience delivering teaching and learning, ideally in an education or specialist setting.

· A good understanding of individualised and differentiated learning.

· Experience supporting students with behavioural and emotional needs.

· Strong communication and relationship-building skills.

· The ability to adapt your approach to meet individual student needs.

· A good understanding of safeguarding and professional boundaries.

· Strong organisation and record-keeping skills.

· The ability to work effectively as part of a multidisciplinary team.

· A patient, calm and consistent approach.

You will be empathetic, resilient and non-judgemental, with the ability to build positive relationships while maintaining clear and appropriate boundaries.
