Tutors

Overview

Tutors help students build understanding, confidence, and practical skills through focused, engaging instruction. You’ll adapt lessons to individual learning styles, support learners from diverse cultural backgrounds, and teach in person or through online instruction. Subject needs may include mathematics, science, and English language arts.

Responsibilities

• Provide tutoring and teaching for students with varied goals, ages, and learning needs.
• Plan lessons and contribute to curriculum development; use learning technology to support instruction.
• Teach mathematics, science, and English language arts, including writing skills and SAT preparation tutoring, as appropriate to your subject expertise.
• Adapt instruction for different learning styles and support students who receive special education services.
• Maintain a supportive learning environment, using classroom management and clear communication to help students stay engaged. Your impact: By tailoring instruction to each learner, you help students strengthen skills and make progress toward their learning goals.

Experience

• Strong communication skills and the ability to explain concepts clearly.
• Experience tutoring, teaching, or working with students; experience teaching math is valuable for mathematics assignments.
• Experience with children, childcare, preschool, adult education, or classroom settings is relevant, depending on the learners served.
• Familiarity with lesson planning, online instruction, learning technology, and instructional adaptability is helpful.
• Experience in science tutoring, English language arts tutoring, SAT preparation tutoring, or special education is preferred for relevant assignments.

Pay: $17.50 - $30.00 per hour
