Twos Teacher

Our licensed, NAEYC-accredited, 5 STAR Early Care and Education Program at Sunrise Family Resource Center is looking for a full-time Twos Teacher. We are seeking a committed professional who enjoys working with two-year-olds, loves getting down on the floor to play, and appreciates that early childhood is a messy business.

The ideal candidate will implement developmentally appropriate curriculum in a safe and nurturing environment, understand trauma-informed practices, work well as part of a team, and provide education and support to parents.

Qualifications:

· At least 20 years of age

· High school diploma or GED

· At least 12 months of experience working with groups of children is required

· Meet at least one of the following education pathways:

o Vermont Early Childhood Career Ladder Level 3 Certificate

o Associate degree from an accredited college in Early Childhood, Child or Human Development, Elementary Education, or Child and Family Services

o Registered Child Care Apprenticeship Program Certificate of Completion

o Child Care Certificate from the Community College of Vermont

o 12 college credits with an early childhood or school-age focus

· Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field preferred

Candidates must be able to pass a background check with fingerprinting, to be completed upon employment.

Strong organizational skills a must. Knowledge of the philosophy and strength-based values of family centered services and early childhood education is an important part of this rewarding work.

Schedule: 40 Hours per week, Monday – Friday:

Either 8:00am – 4:00pm or 8:30am – 4:30pm, with a 30 minute paid lunch.

Compensation: $19 - $21/hour, based on experience.

Primary Duties:

1. Maintain NAEYC Guidelines for Best Practices and all state licensing regulations in daily operations.

2. Complete any required daily paperwork, lesson plans and notes.

3. Work positively and collectively with others, as a team member of the ECE Program and the Sunrise community.
