Job Summary
We are looking for a detail-oriented and computer-savvy Typesetter / Data Entry Operator to support our journal and book publication production process. The candidate will be responsible for accurate data entry, manuscript formatting, typesetting, proofreading support, and preparation of articles for online and print publication.

Key Responsibilities

• Type and enter manuscripts, articles, references, tables, and other publication-related data accurately.
• Format research papers according to journal-specific guidelines and templates.
• Perform typesetting of articles, books, conference papers, and other academic content.
• Work with MS Word, Adobe InDesign, PDF, and other publishing/formatting tools.
• Format headings, paragraphs, tables, figures, equations, references, and citations.
• Prepare manuscripts for publication in PDF, HTML, XML/JATS XML, and other required formats.
• Check documents for typographical, formatting, spacing, and alignment errors.
• Perform basic proofreading and identify inconsistencies in manuscripts.
• Enter and update article metadata such as author names, affiliations, titles, abstracts, keywords, references, and DOI information.
• Assist in uploading and managing articles in OJS (Open Journal Systems).
• Coordinate with editors, authors, and the production team regarding formatting and correction requirements.
• Maintain proper file naming, folder structures, and production records.
• Ensure accuracy and timely completion of assigned articles and production tasks.
• Follow journal production standards, templates, and quality-control procedures.

Required Skills

• Good typing speed and excellent accuracy.
• Strong knowledge of MS Word and document formatting.
• Basic knowledge of PDF editing and document conversion.
• Good English reading and writing skills.
• Strong attention to detail.
• Ability to work with tables, references, figures, and academic manuscripts.
• Basic computer and internet skills.
• Ability to handle multiple assignments and meet deadlines.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in academic/journal publishing.
• Knowledge of OJS.
• Knowledge of JATS XML/XML tagging.
• Experience with Adobe InDesign, Photoshop, or Illustrator.
• Familiarity with citation/reference styles such as APA, Vancouver, IEEE, and MLA.
• Experience in proofreading and copyediting.

Salary: ₹15,000–₹25,000 per month, depending on qualifications and experience.
