Tyre Manager

Responsibilities

• Ensure the correct implementation and adherence to tyre maintenance and replacement policies and procedures.
• Coordinate with Maintenance and Operations teams to ensure timely tyre inspections, replacements, and repairs.
• Monitor tyre inventory levels, identify trends, and provide recommendations to optimize stock management and operational efficiency.
• Conduct regular audits of tyre stock and related records to ensure accuracy, accountability, and completeness.
• Maintain accurate tyre maintenance records, reports, and documentation, ensuring compliance with company standards and relevant policies.
• Analyse tyre performance and cost data to identify opportunities for savings, including retreading initiatives and alternative tyre solutions.
• Monitor tyre usage, lifespan, and performance to maximize tyre value and minimize downtime.
• Ensure all tyre-related activities are conducted in accordance with safety and operational requirements.
• Adhere to all company PPE requirements.
• Comply with all SMSA policies, procedures, and SHE requirements.
• Promote a safe and healthy working environment at all times.

Requirements

• Grade 12 Certificate or equivalent qualification.
• Minimum of 10 years' experience in tyre management and administration, preferably within the transport industry.
• Strong understanding of tyre technology and best practices relating to tyre maintenance, repair, and replacement.
• Excellent organisational skills with strong attention to detail.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office applications. Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a team environment.
• Valid driver's licence.
