Ready to take the next step in your tyre career? Winger Hamilton is looking for an experienced TyreLAND Technician to join our Aftersales team and help us continue growing our tyre and wheel alignment operation.

This is a great opportunity for someone with solid tyre fitting and wheel alignment experience who wants to work in a larger automotive environment, broaden their experience and play a genuine part in developing the business.

Winger is a proudly New Zealand-owned, multi-franchise automotive group. At Hamilton, you'll work alongside a busy Service, Parts and Sales operation and be exposed to a wide variety of passenger vehicles, SUVs, 4WDs and light-commercial vehicles.

Based primarily at our 25 The Boulevard site in Te Rapa, you'll be an important part of both the TyreLAND operation and the wider Winger Hamilton Aftersales team.

The role

You'll take responsibility for the day-to-day technical delivery of our TyreLAND operation, including tyre fitting and balancing, puncture repairs, wheel alignments, vehicle tyre inspections and customer advice.

You'll also work closely with our Service and Parts teams to identify tyre and alignment opportunities across the dealership, support new and used vehicle preparation, and ensure customers receive clear, practical advice about their tyre requirements.

An important part of the role is helping manage the physical tyre inventory. You'll receive and locate incoming stock, maintain an organised tyre storage area and communicate closely with our Parts team around replenishment, commonly used tyre sizes and changing demand.

We are also looking for someone who wants to contribute ideas and help us develop the opportunity further.

Your role will include:

• Tyre fitting, balancing, rotation and puncture repairs
• Wheel alignment inspection and adjustment
• Inspecting and reporting tyre condition, wear and alignment requirements
• Providing friendly, knowledgeable tyre advice to customers
• Presenting suitable tyre options using the TyreLAND Good, Better, Best approach
• Supporting tyre and alignment requirements from our wider Winger dealership
• Receiving, locating and maintaining tyre inventory
• Working with Parts to identify stock requirements, replenishment needs and changing demand
• Using dealership, Vehicle Health Check and tyre-related systems
• Maintaining a clean, professional and safe TyreLAND operation
• Contributing ideas to help improve and grow the business

What we're looking for

You'll need proven tyre fitting, balancing and wheel alignment experience, ideally gained within a tyre retailer, tyre franchise, dealership or similar automotive environment.

You'll also bring good practical ability, strong attention to detail and the confidence to speak directly with customers about tyre condition, replacement options and wheel alignment requirements.

Just as importantly, we're looking for someone with a positive attitude who enjoys being part of a wider team and is willing to take ownership of their area.

If you also have an automotive trade qualification, WoF authority, PDI experience or general mechanical servicing and repair skills, that's a real advantage but these aren't prerequisites for the role.
