UI/UX Designer

Responsibilities:

• Review and analyse System Requirements Specifications (SRS), functional requirements, and user stories to derive UI design requirements and screen inventory.
• Produce high-fidelity Figma mockups for web and mobile interfaces across multiple workstreams, ensuring designs accurately reflect documented functional requirements.
• Design and maintain a consistent component library and design system within Figma, ensuring visual consistency across all screens and modules.
• Collaborate closely with Business Analysts, developers, and the Product Owner to validate that screen designs correctly represent intended workflows and business logic.
• Participate in design review sessions with stakeholders, incorporating feedback iteratively and maintaining version-controlled design files.
• Annotate mockups with interaction notes, state variations (e.g. empty states, error states, loading states), and design specifications to support developer handoff.
• Flag ambiguities or gaps in requirements that have UI/UX implications and work with the BA team to resolve them before design is finalised.
• Support UAT and system testing phases by providing design reference materials and clarifying design intent when defects or discrepancies arise.
• Ensure all designs comply with relevant accessibility standards and, where applicable, Singapore Government Design System (SGDS) guidelines.
• Contribute to project documentation by producing annotated screen flows, wireframe libraries, and design decision logs as required by the project team

Top 3 Must-Have Skills / Primary Skills

• Must have 4+ years of experience in UI/UX design
• Must have 4+ years of experience in Figma
• Figma Proficiency & UI/UX Design Highly proficient in Figma for creating detailed, production-ready screen mockups and interactive prototypes. Able to design end-to-end user flows, apply consistent design systems and component libraries, and deliver annotated screens that development teams can implement directly.
• Requirements Interpretation from SRS Able to read and interpret System Requirements Specifications (SRS) and functional requirement documents to derive accurate UI designs. Translates business and functional requirements into intuitive screen layouts without requiring hand-holding from developers or business analysts.
• Design Standards & Accessibility Strong understanding of responsive design principles, web/mobile UI conventions, and accessibility standards (e.g. WCAG 2.1). Ensures all mockups adhere to established design guidelines, government digital standards, or client branding requirements.

Good-to-Have Skills

• Familiarity with front-end technologies (HTML, CSS, JavaScript/React) to understand technical constraints and communicate effectively with developers
• Experience working within or contributing to a design system or component library (e.g. Figma component libraries, Singapore Government Design System – SGDS)
• Proficiency in interpreting and applying client-specified UI/UX frameworks (e.g. Angular Material, Bootstrap, Ant Design, SGDS, or custom design systems) to produce Figma mockups that are consistent with the client's chosen technology stack and visual languageExperience in public sector or government digital projects, particularly in Singapore (e.g. GovTech, HDB, LTA, or similar agencies)
• Familiarity with tools such as Figma for collaborative design and documentation
• Understanding of SDLC processes and experience working in Waterfall delivery teams
