Unarmed Security Guard

Job Summary
We are seeking a vigilant and dependable Unarmed Security Guard to ensure the safety and security of our premises, staff, and visitors. In this role, you will monitor access points, conduct surveillance, and respond promptly to any incidents or emergencies. Your proactive presence will help maintain a secure environment, prevent loss or theft, and uphold the safety standards of our organization. This paid position offers an opportunity to serve as a frontline protector while developing your skills in security operations.

Duties

• Monitor and control access to the facility by verifying credentials of employees, visitors, and contractors.
• Conduct regular internal patrols to observe activity around the premises and identify potential security risks.
• Perform routine patrols of the property to deter unauthorized access, theft, or vandalism.
• Respond swiftly to alarms, disturbances, or emergencies by coordinating with law enforcement or emergency services as needed.
• Maintain detailed logs of daily activities, incidents, and security checks for record-keeping and reporting purposes.
• Assist in loss prevention efforts by observing suspicious behavior and intervening when necessary.
• Support emergency response procedures by providing first aid or CPR if required and ensuring safety protocols are followed.

Qualifications

• Prior experience in security, law enforcement, military service, or related fields is highly desirable.
• Familiarity with conflict management techniques.
• Certification in first aid and CPR is preferred; willingness to obtain these certifications if not already held.
• Strong observational skills with attention to detail during patrols and surveillance activities.
• Ability to remain calm under pressure while responding effectively to emergencies or disturbances.
• Excellent communication skills for interacting professionally with staff, visitors, and emergency responders.
• Basic understanding of security procedures including loss prevention strategies and incident reporting. Pay: From $15.50 per hour

Expected hours: No less than 16.0 per week
