Unarmed Security Guard (Part-Time)

Job Overview

Onyx Shield Security, LLC is seeking a vigilant and dependable Unarmed Security Guard to uphold safety and security across our premises. In this role, you will be responsible for monitoring the environment, controlling access points, and ensuring a secure atmosphere for staff, visitors, and property. Your proactive approach and keen observation skills will help prevent incidents and respond effectively to emergencies. Duties

• Conduct regular patrols of the facility using CCTV systems and physical inspections to identify potential security risks or breaches.
• Manage access control by verifying credentials and authorizing entry for employees, visitors, and contractors while maintaining detailed logs.
• Monitor surveillance equipment such as CCTV cameras to observe activity and detect suspicious behavior or unauthorized access.
• Respond promptly to emergency situations by implementing established procedures, including first aid, CPR, AED operation, or fire safety protocols.
• Write clear, detailed incident reports documenting any security breaches, accidents, or unusual occurrences for future reference.
• Perform background checks on new personnel or visitors as required to ensure compliance with security policies.
• Assist with conflict de-escalation and conflict management techniques to resolve disputes peacefully while maintaining a professional demeanor.

Requirements

• 1-2 years experience in security roles or related fields such as military service or law enforcement is highly desirable.
• Knowledge of security systems including access control systems, CCTV operation, and manual handling techniques.
• Ability to perform physical security duties such as heavy lifting, patrolling on foot or vehicle, and manual handling when necessary.
• Strong communication skills for incident report writing and customer service interactions with staff and visitors.
• Understanding of compliance with security regulations and protocols to ensure lawful operations at all times.
• Demonstrated ability to remain alert during long shifts while managing multiple responsibilities effectively.
• Certification in first aid, CPR, AED operation, and familiarity with emergency response procedures, preferred.
• Must be able to pass a fingerprinted background check and drug screening.

Shift

• 6 p.m. - 2 a.m. EST (2nd shift)
• Days of week to be determined
• Weekends may be required

Pay: $14.00 - $15.50 per hour
