What they need
About the role
We are looking for an experienced Underground Mining Surveyor to join our Mining Services Division.
Our work is varied and ever-changing, requiring a practical and flexible approach. From using underground drones on some sites to traditional CMS and CALS methods on others, adaptability and a sound understanding of surveying fundamentals are important.
Roster is 8/6 days for initial deployment, with potential for 2/2 weeks depending on future project needs.
Key responsibilities
- Conduct underground surveying activities, including survey control installation, laser installs, survey pickups, ring mark ups, and occasional general site surveying needs such as surface infrastructure and ROM surveys
- Prepare and issue mining instructions on time so production isn't held up
- Work across a range of systems and technology including: Leica Total Station, Trimble GPS and Deswik Software. Hovermap or Ellios drone experience well regarded, with DJI drones, Agisoft or Global Mapper experience advantageous on the surface side.
- Build strong working relationships with site teams to help continued survey delivery on site
About you
- Recognised surveying qualification
- Underground survey experience and the ability to run a site's survey work independently, without close supervision
- Quick to pick up whatever systems and equipment a site run
- Confident dealing directly with client mine personnel
- RPAS/RePL certification is a plus, not a must
- Grade 1 Authorisation highly favourable, not essential
- Right to work in Australia
Benefits
- Superannuation paid on every hour worked
- Access to a profit share program (casual and full-time staff)
- For full-time roles: annual leave, paid parental leave (after 12 months), support for further education, and opportunities for professional development, including conference attendance.
- Professional development including working toward Grade 1 Authorisation if not yet attained
- Variety of projects and technologies over time
