Duties

• Operate heavy machinery including dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks to excavate trenches and move materials efficiently.
• Install underground utilities such as sewer lines, water supply systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and pipeline networks following detailed construction plans and blueprints.
• Read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and construction plans to ensure precise utility trenching and pipe installation.
• Locate existing underground utilities using utility locating equipment to prevent damage during excavation activities.
• Conduct construction trenching with adherence to safety regulations, including federal construction safety standards and site-specific protocols.
• Perform pipe installation using laser-guided tools for accuracy; ensure proper connection and sealing of pipes for long-term durability.
• Complete concrete finishing tasks around utility installations when required; perform welding repairs on piping or structural components as needed.
• Follow all safety regulations diligently, including safety protocol adherence during heavy equipment operation and construction site activities.
• Maintain detailed records of work performed, including inspection logs, safety reports, and project documentation.

• Proficiency in operating heavy equipment such as dozers, loaders, backhoes, excavators, and front loader trucks with a focus on underground utility projects.
• Strong knowledge of utility locating techniques and equipment to identify existing underground infrastructure accurately.
• Skilled in reading blueprints, technical drawings, and construction plans related to sewer lines, water systems, stormwater management, and sanitary drainage systems.
• Experience with construction trenching methods specific to underground utilities installation while following safety regulations.
• Ability to perform pipe laser alignment for precise pipe installation; familiarity with pipe laser technology is a plus.
• Knowledge of wastewater systems, sanitary sewers, stormwater systems, and water supply infrastructure design principles.
• Competence in welding repairs on piping or structural components; experience with concrete finishing is advantageous.
• Familiarity with federal construction safety regulations to ensure a safe working environment on all projects.
• Hands-on experience with hand tools used in utility trenching and pipe installation tasks.
• Ability to interpret technical drawings accurately; strong attention to detail during construction site activities.
