Underwriting Lead - LMA

An established insurance organisation is looking for an experienced P&C Underwriter ready to take the next step into a Team Lead position.

This is an attractive opportunity for someone who enjoys the technical side of underwriting but is also keen to take on broader responsibility across portfolio management, broker engagement and team development.

The Role

1. Lead and support a team of underwriters across a diversified Commercial P&C portfolio.
2. Underwrite and review complex risks across multiple commercial lines, ensuring sound risk selection, pricing and portfolio quality.
3. Provide technical guidance, coaching and support to underwriters within the team.
4. Manage portfolio performance, renewals, referrals and underwriting governance.
5. Build strong relationships with brokers and other key market partners.
6. Work closely with senior management on underwriting strategy, business development and profitable portfolio growth.

What We’re Looking For

1. Strong Commercial P&C underwriting experience within the Singapore insurance market.
2. Technical underwriting exposure across multiple P&C lines such as Property, Casualty/Liability, Engineering, Financial Lines or other commercial risks.
3. Good understanding of underwriting principles , pricing, risk assessment and portfolio management.
4. Strong broker relationships and knowledge of the Singapore commercial insurance market.
5. Existing leadership experience is advantageous, although experienced Senior Underwriters ready to step into their first formal Team Lead role are also encouraged to apply.
6. A great opportunity to combine hands-on technical underwriting with people leadership, while playing a key role in shaping and growing a commercial P&C portfolio.
