Underwriting Manager

Role Description The Underwriting Manager will oversee and evaluate underwriting activities related to investment, financial, and insurance matters, ensuring that risks are assessed in line with IDSC policies and international standards. This part-time remote role involves reviewing documentation, analyzing financial and legal information, and providing clear recommendations on underwriting decisions to support fair and sustainable dispute settlements. The Underwriting Manager will collaborate with mediators, legal experts, and financial professionals to align underwriting assessments with mediation strategies and advisory services. Daily tasks include developing and maintaining underwriting guidelines, monitoring portfolio risk, preparing concise reports for internal and external stakeholders, and contributing to continuous improvement of underwriting processes and tools.

Qualifications

• Strong Analytical Skills, with the ability to interpret complex financial, legal, and risk-related data to support sound underwriting decisions.
• Experience in Underwriting and Mortgage Underwriting, including setting risk criteria, reviewing cases, and ensuring compliance with relevant policies and regulations.
• Knowledge of Insurance and Finance, including risk management principles, financial instruments, and market practices relevant to investment disputes.
• Bachelor’s degree or higher in Finance, Economics, Business, Law, Risk Management, or a related field.
• Prior experience in underwriting within financial services, insurance, or investment environments; exposure to dispute resolution or mediation is an advantage.
• Ability to work independently in a remote, part-time setting, manage multiple cases, and meet deadlines with high attention to detail.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills in English; proficiency in Arabic is a plus.
• Familiarity with international best practices and regulatory frameworks related to investments and dispute resolution is desirable.
