As an Underwriting Technician, you will support Blanket Insurance and Cactus Insurance in a full-time role based in our Eden Terrace office in Auckland. You’ll play a key role in supporting underwriting operations and delivering high-quality service to our broker partners.

What you'll be doing

• Provide efficient and accurate processing of new business proposals, endorsements and mid-term adjustments
• Assist in the review and assessment of Fire & General insurance risks, including evaluation of policy terms, conditions and pricing
• Liaise with brokers to obtain necessary information and documentation, ensuring a seamless underwriting process
• Contribute to the development and maintenance of underwriting guidelines and procedures
• Collaborate with the wider underwriting team to identify opportunities for process improvement and enhanced customer service
• Maintain thorough records and documentation in accordance with company policies and regulatory requirements

What we're looking for

• Minimum of 2 years' experience in a Fire & General insurance underwriting support or broker support role
• Strong understanding of Fire & General insurance products, policies and underwriting principles
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build strong relationships with brokers
• Proficient in data analysis and problem-solving, with a keen eye for detail
• Adaptable and able to work effectively in a fast-paced, collaborative environment
• Relevant insurance or risk management qualifications (e.g. ANZIIF, ICNZ) would be highly regarded
