Unified Data Platform Technical Development Lead

For our client, we are seeking a Unified Data Platform Technical Development Lead to join the team of a leader in the Technical Services space.

This role will drive the technical strategy and implementation of a unified data management capability, with a strong focus on modern data architecture, streaming data, and secure data sharing. The selected individual will guide platform design across cloud environments, partner with technical teams to deliver robust data solutions, and help ensure the organization can maximize the value of its existing technology investments.

Location: Remote - US based candidates only, no visa sponsorship available

Compensation: $107,900 – $195,050 annually

Responsibilities

• Lead the technical strategy and implementation for unified data management capabilities
• Define data architecture across AWS IL5/IL6 and related tools
• Architect and implement data lake and streaming processing patterns
• Design pipelines for diverse operational data integration and management
• Maximize existing technology usage while evaluating new tools for business value
• Oversee the design of secure data sharing and governance capabilities
• Mentor technical staff and lead design reviews to ensure quality delivery

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a technical discipline or equivalent experience; Master's preferred with less experience
• 8+ years leading data strategy in complex environments; a Master's degree may substitute for 2 years of experience
• Expertise in modern data architectures, especially data lakes and streaming data
• Strong knowledge of Confluent Kafka, including operational troubleshooting and schema management
• Experience with AWS cloud services; GovCloud or DoD experience preferred
• Proficiency in data governance, sharing, and quality management techniques
• Hands-on experience with DevSecOps and CI/CD methodologies
