Unit Care Specialist

POSITION PURPOSE

The Unit Care Specialist position works alongside physicians, nurses and other healthcare providers to deliver safe, efficient and patient-centered care. This role is essential to ensuring the highest level of patient care in a fast-paced, high-acuity environment. This position offers an opportunity for growth and training in a supportive team setting. MINIMUM MANDATORY QUALIFICATIONS

EXPERIENCE:

• No previous experience required.

EDUCATION:

• High school diploma or High School Equivalency Test (HSE) required.

MANDATORY KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITIES AND OTHER QUALIFICATIONS:

• Strong interpersonal and team building skills.
• Excellent telephone communication skills with strong customer service ability.
• Strong oral and written communication skills in dealing with a variety of individuals.
• Strong skill set with various computer and telecommunication devices.
• A record of satisfactory performance in all prior and current employment as evidenced by positive employment references from previous and current employers.
• Basic Life Support (BLS) within six (6) months of hire.
• Annual hospital-wide competencies and compliance education as assigned.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

• Emergency Medical Technician (EMT) Basic level, Licensed Practical Nurse (LPN), or Certified Nursing Assistant (CNA) preferred.

• Bilingual skills in English and Spanish.
