Unit Turnover Technician | Full-Time | Spokane, WA

Are you hands-on, detail-oriented, and passionate about helping maintain safe, quality, affordable housing? SNAP is looking for a Unit Turnover Technician to join our Housing Services team!

In this role, you’ll help prepare rental units for their next residents by making sure each space is clean, well-maintained, and ready to feel like home. If you enjoy hands-on work, take pride in a job well done, and want to make a difference in your community, we’d love to hear from you!

🔨 What You’ll Do

• Clean, paint, and prepare rental units for new residents.
• Perform minor repairs, caulking, and general maintenance.
• Complete work orders promptly and professionally.
• Help maintain safe, clean, and well-kept properties.
• Work collaboratively with the property management and maintenance teams.
• Care for tools, equipment, and workspaces while meeting project deadlines.

💰 What We Offer

• Starting pay: $18.02–$20.08 per hour, depending on experience (DOE)
• Full pay range: $18.02–$27.91 per hour
• Full-time, regular position: 40 hours per week
• Benefits include: Medical, dental, life insurance, long-term disability (LTD), paid time off (PTO), and a 403(b) retirement plan.

Requirements:

                Education and Experience

• Required: High School education and three years of experience in janitorial, maintenance, and/or apartment turnover work.
• Preferred: High School diploma and five years of experience in apartment turnover work.

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities

• Ability to empathize and communicate with low-income, vulnerable, and diverse populations

• Must be able to maintain strong professional boundaries

• Able to maintain strict confidentiality with personal information

• Janitorial and minor maintenance repair skills

• Basic computer skills, including a basic understanding of the Microsoft Office suite of products and a capacity to learn database systems such as Salesforce and ResMan.

• Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with emphasis on effectively working in a team environment and with a diverse population

• Ability to work independently, using initiative and judgment to resolve problems and ensure workflow is appropriately addressed

• Ability to complete documentation using legible handwriting and basic computer skills

Training and Certifications

• Valid driver's license and insurance, good driving record, insurance, and reliable vehicle for transporting materials (mileage reimbursed)
• Blood-borne Pathogens training (annually) and safety training (ongoing)
• Lead Safe working practices training within six months of hire
• Thorough knowledge of HUD NSPIRE standards, certification preferred.

Work Environment/Physical Activities:

May be asked to travel regionally to perform work with mileage reimbursement.

This position requires working in seasonal heat and cold. Physical ability to lift up to 85 pounds.  Endurance to lift, pull, transport, handle, and operate hand and power tools, machinery, and related materials and supplies. May be exposed to dusty, wet, muddy, poorly ventilated and occasionally unsanitary environments.  May be exposed to fumes and substances including paint, solvents, and other materials.
