Senior Unix Engineer

Job Summary

We are looking for an experienced Senior Unix Engineer with 10+ years of hands-on Unix administration experience and a strong background in the banking domain. The ideal candidate should have expertise in Unix/Linux system administration, production support, troubleshooting, performance tuning, and infrastructure management within banking or financial services environments.

Candidates with experience supporting business-critical banking applications and high-availability systems will be preferred.

Required Skills and Experience

• 10+ years of hands-on experience in Unix/Linux system administration.
• Mandatory banking or financial services domain experience.
• Strong knowledge of Unix operating systems such as AIX, Solaris, HP-UX, or Linux.
• Experience in production support for business-critical applications.
• Strong troubleshooting, performance monitoring, and root cause analysis skills.
• Proficiency in shell scripting, including Bash or KSH.
• Knowledge of file systems, process management, user administration, and system utilities.
• Understanding of system security, patch management, networking fundamentals, and high availability.
• Experience working in enterprise environments with strict uptime, security, and operational requirements.
• Good communication, analytical, and problem-solving skills.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience supporting banking applications and critical financial systems.
• Understanding of banking IT operations, change controls, incident management, and compliance requirements.
• Familiarity with ITIL processes, monitoring tools, backup solutions, and disaster recovery procedures.
• Experience managing Unix infrastructure in large-scale enterprise environments.
