Upholsterer

We are looking for a skilled and experienced Upholsterer to join our team. The candidate will be responsible for upholstering, repairing, and finishing furniture according to design specifications and quality standards**.**

Key Responsibilities

• Frame Preparation & Repair: Inspect, clean, and repair timber, metal, or composite furniture frames. Replace damaged springs, burlap, webbing, and other components as required.
• Padding & Cushioning: Cut, shape, and install foam, cotton batting, fiberfill, felt, and other padding materials to achieve the required firmness, comfort, and shape.
• Patterning & Cutting: Prepare patterns and templates for upholstery fabrics, leather, and vinyl, ensuring correct alignment, grain direction, and efficient use of materials.
• Sewing & Assembly: Operate industrial sewing machines to stitch covers, piping, welt cords, and zippers. Fit and stretch upholstery covers properly over furniture frames.
• Finishing: Carry out hand stitching, blind seams, button tufting, decorative nail heads, gimp, welt lines, and other finishing details as required.
• Quality Control: Inspect completed furniture to ensure proper tension, alignment, comfort, finishing, and freedom from wrinkles or defects.
• Maintain tools and equipment in good working condition.
• Follow company health and safety procedures and maintain a clean and safe work area.

Skills and Qualifications

• Several years of experience as an Upholsterer or in a similar role.
• Good knowledge of furniture upholstery techniques and materials.
• Ability to work with fabric, leather, vinyl, foam, and other upholstery materials.
• Good attention to detail and accuracy.
• Ability to read and follow furniture designs and specifications.
• Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
• Good physical stamina and manual dexterity.
• Knowledge of workplace health and safety requirements.

Pay: From AED1,800.00 per month
