Upholstery Foreman

Maison Azure Technical Services is setting up its in-house upholstery workshop in Dubai for superyacht refits and interior fit-out. We are looking for a hands-on Upholstery Foreman to lead it from day one: help set up the workshop, train the team, and deliver to the finish standard the superyacht industry expects.

Responsibilities

• Lead a small team (upholsterer, panel fitter and peak-season support) and work on the tools yourself
• Template ceiling and wall panels on board, plan the cuts and manage leather yield
• Reupholster panels, headboards, sofas, helm and captain's chairs, and cushions
• Check every show face against approved samples to ±1 mm joint tolerance
• Coordinate with joinery, lighting and project management; report progress daily
• Keep material records (labels, batch numbers) for fire certification

Qualifications

• 8–10+ years in upholstery, including at least 3–5 years on superyachts (refit experience is a strong plus)
• Expert panel wrapping in leather, faux leather and silicone leather: clean corners, mitres, deep buttoning, piping, top-stitching
• Confident on industrial walking-foot and twin-needle machines
• Knowledge of marine fire-retardant foams and fabrics, and of working on board under permits
• Experience leading a small team
• Good spoken and written English

Nice to have

• Exterior cushions and covers (marine vinyl, quick-dry foam)
• UAE yacht or shipyard experience
• UAE driving licence
