Upper Elementary Teacher

Overview

As an Upper Elementary Teacher, you’ll create engaging learning experiences that help students build confidence and make progress across core subjects. You’ll plan and deliver instruction in English, Language and Grammar, Spelling, History, Science, Math. Adapt lessons to different learning styles, and partner with families and colleagues to support each child’s development. Your impact: By monitoring student progress and adjusting instruction, you help students strengthen essential skills and participate more fully in learning.

Duties

• Develop and implement curriculum, lesson plans, and literacy and math instruction aligned with educational requirements.
• Use classroom management, behavior management, and differentiated instruction to support a welcoming, focused classroom.
• Monitor student performance, review data and standardized testing results, and communicate progress with families.
• Collaborate with teachers and specialists; provide mentoring, tutoring, and appropriate support for students.
• Integrate learning technology, support classroom and library activities, and maintain accurate records.

Skills

• Essential: Classroom experience, upper elementary school teaching experience, teaching experience with young children, experience working with children, strong communication and writing skills, proofreading, and effective parent-teacher communication.
• Essential: Knowledge of childhood development, learning styles adaptability, student progress monitoring, curriculum development and implementation, and educational compliance and regulations.
• Valued: Teacher collaboration, educational technology integration, learning technology, private school experience. Abeka curriculum teaching experience a plus.
