Upper Math and Science Tutor

The Well Tutoring Center is Building Our Tutoring Team! Part-Time Upper-Level Math & Science Tutors

Huntsville, Alabama

$14–$16/hour | Flexible Schedule

The Well Tutoring Center is preparing to open in Huntsville, and we're looking for strong math and science students, graduates, educators, and lifelong learners to join our founding tutor team. We're especially interested in tutors comfortable working with upper-level/high school and college-level math and science.

We are looking for tutors who can help with subjects such as:

• Math
• Algebra I & II
• Geometry
• Pre-Calculus
• Trigonometry
• Calculus
• Statistics
• College-level mathematics

Science

• Biology
• Chemistry
• Physics
• Environmental Science
• Anatomy & Physiology
• Other advanced science coursework

Don't feel comfortable with every subject? That's okay! Tutors will only be assigned students in subjects and levels where they have demonstrated competency.

What we're looking for:

• Genuine love for learning
• Strong understanding of your subject area
• Ability to explain difficult concepts clearly
• Patience and compassion for students who are struggling
• A desire to help students build confidence—not just finish homework

Prior tutoring or teaching experience is not required. College students, recent graduates, experienced tutors, and retired educators are all encouraged to apply.

Applicants may be required to complete a subject-area assessment, interview, and mock tutoring session before being hired. These assessments will help us determine which subjects and levels you're qualified to teach and your starting pay rate.

• Part-time Flexible scheduling
• Primarily after-school/evening hours
• In-person and online opportunities

The Well is about meeting students where they are. We're looking for tutors who see the student—not just the assignment—and genuinely want to help them discover that they can learn difficult things.

If you're the person your friends call when they don't understand calculus, chemistry, or physics… we'd love to hear from you!
