About the Role

Rexus Group is looking for an experienced Commercial / Data Center Electrician to conduct an onsite electrical infrastructure survey and support UPS power distribution projects.

The selected professional will work closely with our India-based UPS Electrical Project Manager , who will remotely lead technical coordination, provide survey checklists, review findings and manage the overall engineering and design process.

The primary responsibility is to accurately assess the existing electrical infrastructure and collect the technical information required for electrical design, load calculations and Bill of Materials (BoM) preparation.

This is initially a site survey and technical assessment assignment, with potential opportunities for additional installation work.

Key Responsibilities

1. Onsite Electrical Site Survey

• Conduct a detailed survey of existing UPS and electrical power distribution infrastructure.
• Inspect UPS equipment, maintenance bypass systems, distribution panels, circuit breakers, feeder connections and associated electrical components.
• Record electrical equipment specifications, nameplate ratings, panel schedules and existing connections.
• Identify existing UPS-supported and non-UPS-supported power distribution circuits.
• Verify accessible cable routes, conduit requirements and installation conditions.
• Document discrepancies between existing drawings and actual site conditions.

2. Data Center Power Infrastructure Assessment

• Inspect electrical power connections serving server racks and data center equipment.
• Identify rack PDUs, receptacles, underfloor electrical whips and branch-circuit connections.
• Coordinate with the onsite data center engineer to document rack power requirements.
• Identify equipment requiring UPS-backed power.
• Record relevant electrical measurements and existing load information using approved procedures.

3. Remote Coordination with India UPS Project Manager

• Follow technical instructions and structured survey checklists provided by Rexus's India-based UPS Project Manager.
• Participate in remote coordination calls during the site survey.
• Share findings, measurements, equipment details and photographs where permitted.
• Clarify electrical installation conditions and technical limitations.
• Support follow-up questions required for electrical design and BoM validation.

4. Electrical Design & BoM Support

• Provide accurate field information to support electrical single-line diagrams (SLDs).
• Verify existing panelboard ratings, breaker configurations and available distribution capacity.
• Assist with feeder routing, cable length and conduit assessments.
• Support verification of electrical material quantities and specifications.
• Identify potential installation challenges and safety concerns.

5. Site Survey Documentation

• Prepare a structured electrical site survey report.
• Provide equipment inventory and electrical panel details.
• Record relevant measurements, circuit information and existing infrastructure conditions.
• Submit photographs, sketches and observations where authorized.
• Highlight missing information, discrepancies and recommended follow-up inspections.

Required Skills & Qualifications

• Massachusetts-licensed electrician , with appropriate qualifications and authorization for the assigned work.
• Minimum 5 years of commercial, industrial or data center electrical experience.
• Experience working with three-phase UPS systems and electrical power distribution.
• Strong knowledge of electrical panels, circuit breakers, feeders, conduits, branch circuits and grounding.
• Experience with data center electrical infrastructure, rack power distribution and UPS-backed circuits.
• Ability to interpret electrical single-line diagrams and existing as-built drawings.
• Familiarity with NEC, NFPA 70E and applicable electrical safety requirements.
• Ability to accurately document electrical equipment specifications and site conditions.
• Good English communication skills and ability to coordinate with remote technical teams.
• Ability to work independently and follow structured technical survey procedures.

Preferred Experience

• Experience with Eaton UPS systems , especially Eaton 93PM / 93PM-L.
• Schneider Electric / APC or Vertiv / Liebert UPS infrastructure.
• Mission-critical data centers and electrical distribution systems.
• Raised-floor electrical installations, underfloor whips and rack PDUs.
• Electrical load assessments and circuit identification.
• Electrical installation, testing and commissioning.

Expected Deliverables

The selected electrician will provide:

1. Completed electrical site survey checklist.
2. UPS and electrical distribution equipment inventory.
3. Existing panelboard, breaker and feeder details.
4. Rack power connection observations.
5. Cable and conduit route measurements.
6. Electrical photographs and sketches, subject to site authorization.
7. Identification of discrepancies and potential installation challenges.
8. Final site survey report for technical review.

Assignment Details

Location: Bedford / Hanscom AFB Area, Massachusetts

Duration: Initial 1-day onsite survey, with possible extension based on requirements

Schedule: To be coordinated with Rexus and the onsite client team

Engagement: Independent Contractor / Project-Based

Compensation: Hourly or fixed-price survey fee, based on experience
