What You’ll Do

• Assist with substrate preparation, inoculation, and fermentation under the guidance of manufacturing leadership and experienced technicians.
• Help operate production equipment, including ribbon mixers, water pumps, and steam sterilizers.
• Set up and take down equipment and workstations.
• Follow standard operating procedures and report equipment issues, material defects, and process deviations.
• Accurately weigh and measure materials and monitor production conditions, including pH and temperature.
• Record production data, observations, and photographs in paper and digital logs.
• Maintain clean, organized, and sanitized production areas while following sanitation and sterilization procedures.
• Safely handle and transfer chemicals and wear required protective equipment.
• Recognize and report potential contamination concerns.
• Follow documented process changes and maintain accurate records to support quality and traceability.

What You Bring

• A collaborative attitude and willingness to receive coaching and feedback.
• Ability to work independently once trained and consistently follow written procedures.
• Comfort working safely and efficiently in a fast-paced production environment.
• Basic math and computer skills, including Microsoft Excel, Microsoft Office, and/or Google Workspace.
• Willingness to wear steel-toe shoes, gloves, and safety glasses.

Preferred: Experience with fungal or microbial cultures, including mushroom cultivation.

Physical Requirements

This role involves physical work for 6–8 hours, including standing, bending, squatting, kneeling, reaching, and lifting or carrying up to 35 pounds regularly and up to 50 pounds occasionally. Essential job functions may be performed with or without reasonable accommodation.

Compensation & Benefits

• $20–$24 per hour, depending on experience
