Duties

• Perform a variety of ultrasound examinations, including general sonography, vascular, obstetric, gynecologic, and specialized imaging.
• Apply proper aseptic techniques to ensure patient safety and prevent infection during procedures.
• Interpret patient physiology and anatomy knowledge to optimize image quality and assist in accurate diagnosis.
• Maintain detailed documentation of procedures using electronic medical record (EMR) systems like Epic, ensuring all images and reports are accurately stored and accessible.
• Collaborate with radiologists, physicians, and other healthcare professionals to review images and discuss findings for comprehensive patient care.
• Adhere to hospital protocols for radiation safety, infection control, and quality assurance standards across all imaging modalities.

Requirements

• Proven experience in medical imaging with proficiency in ultrasound technology and related modalities and EMR systems like Epic.
• Strong knowledge of anatomy, physiology, medical terminology, and diagnostic radiology principles.
• Certification or licensure as an Ultrasound Technologist (ARDMS or equivalent preferred).
• Familiarity with aseptic techniques and infection control procedures within a hospital or clinical setting.
• Ability to operate complex imaging equipment safely and effectively while maintaining patient comfort.
• Excellent communication skills to explain procedures clearly to patients and collaborate with healthcare teams.
