URGENT!!! Contract Software Developer (Kowloon Bay / MTR)

About the role

Responsible for software design, development, and testing on Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) equipment (e.g. POS) according to user requirements. You will explore and develop software/system architecture design solutions with contractors for ticketing systems and review contractor submissions. You will translate existing MS Visual C/C++ coding logic and technical design into design and testing documents, oversee software release preparation and deployment, and provide second line technical support for related production system issues. You will also research latest technologies to explore opportunities to improve or develop innovative solutions for AFC systems.

Key responsibilities

• Software design, development, and testing on Automatic Fare Collection (AFC) equipment according to user requirements
• Explore and develop software/system architecture design solutions with contractors for ticketing systems
• Review contractor submissions
• Translate existing MS Visual C/C++ coding logic and technical design into design and testing documents
• Oversee software release preparation and deployment which may be carried out at Non-Traffic Hour (NTH)
• Provide second line technical support for related production system issues
• Research latest technologies to explore opportunities to improve or develop innovative solutions for AFC systems

About you

• University graduate in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or related discipline
• At least 1-2 years full stack development experience in modern web application development (frontend and backend)
• Solid hands-on programming experience in C#, Java, JavaScript, HTML5, CSS3, and modern web app design and architecture (React, Electron, Node.js, Vue, RESTful API, JSON)
• Hands-on experience with Cloud native architecture and Event Driven architecture design and development (e.g. Docker, microservice, Kubernetes), as well as version control (e.g. Git)
• Knowledge in UI/UX design (e.g. MVC/MVVM)
• Knowledge or solid programming experience in C/C++, VC++, MFC programming (advantageous)
• Familiarity with OOD, OOP, Data structures, Client/Server/Distribution application architecture, network programming, Messaging programming (e.g. RabbitMQ, Kafka, IBM MQ) (advantageous)
