We are looking for a Node.js Developer who can contribute to the development, integration, and enhancement of our technology platforms and insurance applications.

Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Node.js Developer with strong expertise in JavaScript and Node.js to develop scalable, secure, and high-performance applications and APIs for PolicyBoss.

The ideal candidate should have hands-on experience with Node.js, Express.js, REST/SOAP Web Services, MongoDB, database integration, and asynchronous programming. A basic understanding of Angular 5+, HTML5, and CSS3 is also required.

The candidate will work closely with the IT, product, business, and QA teams to develop technology solutions supporting PolicyBoss's insurance business processes and digital platforms.

Key Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain scalable backend applications using Node.js and JavaScript.
• Design, develop, and maintain RESTful APIs and Web Services for insurance applications and internal/external integrations.
• Work with Express.js and other relevant Node.js frameworks.
• Develop APIs and services to support PolicyBoss's digital insurance platforms, business applications, and system integrations.
• Understand and effectively implement asynchronous programming using callbacks, Promises, Async/Await, and Event Loop concepts.
• Integrate multiple data sources, APIs, and databases into a unified application architecture.
• Develop and maintain integrations with internal systems, external partners, insurers, and other third-party platforms.
• Work with REST and SOAP Web Services for system-to-system integration.
• Design and maintain database schemas that effectively represent and support insurance business processes.
• Work with MongoDB and other databases as required.
• Understand existing business processes and convert functional requirements into efficient technical solutions.
• Collaborate with front-end developers for seamless integration between backend APIs and user-facing applications.
• Support applications using Angular 5+, HTML5, and CSS3 at a basic integration level.
• Troubleshoot application issues, API failures, integration issues, and production defects.
• Optimize application performance, scalability, reliability, and security.
• Participate in code reviews, testing, debugging, deployment, and production support.
• Prepare and maintain technical documentation for APIs, integrations, database structures, and application components.
• Work closely with Product, Business, QA, and IT teams to understand requirements and deliver solutions within agreed timelines.
• Follow coding standards, development best practices, security guidelines, and version-control processes.

Mandatory Technical Skills

JavaScript & Node.js

• Strong proficiency in JavaScript.

• Strong hands-on experience with Node.js.

• Strong experience with Express.js or similar Node.js frameworks.

• Strong understanding of asynchronous programming.

• Understanding of server-side templating languages.

Preferred Skills

• Experience in Insurance / InsurTech / BFSI / FinTech applications.
• Experience working with insurance-related APIs and third-party integrations.
• Knowledge of insurance technology platforms, policy issuance, quotation, renewal, claims, or customer-facing applications will be an advantage.
• Knowledge of Git/version control and software development best practices.
• Experience working in Agile/Scrum development environments.
